New esthetician… Welcome Kurt!
I am so happy to welcome our new esthetician, Kurt, to Studio 229 Salon and Spa. He was trained at the Euro Institute of Skin Care. He is able to do it all: waxing, facials, body treatments, peels, microdermabrasion, aroma therapy, and lots more. He uses a holistic approach to skin care. Schedule an appointment with him. In our spa, we will use Vera Botania and Dr. Spiller products to treat your skin. They are truly amazing and luxurious. They are completely natural with fine ingredients such as jojoba oil and Moore mud. My skin has really never been this hydrated this time of year. I owe it to my favorite new product: Multi-Fruit Hydration Gel by Vera Botania. It has cured my face of that crêpe look I get every winter. Now it is seems so smooth and more elastic.

Studio 229 salon and spa will stay on Broadway
There is so much going on up here on Broadway these days. Buildings are being torn down, and new condos and retail spaces are going up. There is also the light rail station that will be arriving here sometime this decade. The Bank of America across the street from us will be torn down pretty soon. So, Broadway is really changing. It will be much cleaner and nicer.
I am really glad that the historic Lota building, where Studio 229 is located, is not going anywhere! We love this Seattle hair salon. It is so cute! we have big arched windows, and a bay window. The building is over 100 years old. So, it has a lot of character and charm. Come in and see us!
Another thing I am excited about is our new product line. Is a small grassroots company that was started by a family of hairdressers. It’s called Termafuse. You won’t find this line in any drugstore. If you use any hot tools or a hairdryer, this stuff is awesome. You can have better hair with heat! Really! They have developed a new technology they call “Heatsmart Complex”. It’s a revolutionary silicone and protein delivery system. There are shampoos for color treated hair, dry hair, limp hair. They even make one for dry scalp and dandruff… so no more head and shoulders, you folks! There are a few styling products, too. Let me tell you, they are all great. They will make your hair beautiful, shiny, smoother or thicker.

Some say I am talented at what I do. If I am a people person, which I consider myself to be, than I should be interested enough in you to to find out what sort of lifestyle you lead. I guess some would call this a consultation. At least part of a consultation. Sure there are other aspects to it. I understand that some people do not really care that much how there hair looks but wouln’t it be nice that when they look in the mirror after not brushing it all day it just layed right anyway? It just had a little more shine? Wouln’t they start to care? If they noticed a difference from one hair cut to another based on their lifestyle. Cut for a lifestyle people. Maybe they don’t care because their hair cut has always looked like crap. It is easier not to care. I could go on and on easing you into how if your not made to do hair get out. People or so called hair designers don’t. You as a consumer has a choice.
Today, our economy plays a role in the way we do hair. Highlightes have taken a downturn and many clients are choosing all over color. This is just one more example. Fine, sucks for me. Just stay away from Rite Aid, Fred Meyer or wherever else you want to purchase box color. It will usual end up to be a disaster and cost you the bucks to fix it. Some people get lucky but most do not.

Happy Holiday Hair
Yesterday, I noticed I have not seen some of my clients for a few months. I decided to send them a message, because I am missing them… and their hair! It is such a wonderful time to get fabulous hair for the holidays. I would love to give a client a fresh look with a new hairstyle or some color. Best Seattle Hair Salon
Not to brag or anything but Studio 229 is the best hair salon and spa in all of Seattle. Yes, I know I am a little biased but I have fixed so many of other salons crapy work that it is ridiculous. Plus, we send out the best hair color and hair cuts that I have seen in all of this city. Sometimes I wonder why people at other salons don’t just throw in the towell.
Fashion Show
Studio 229 Hair Design and Spa is thinking about doing a Fashion show to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We will be turning 20 in April so a Spring fashion show would be right up our alley. Here is the concept we have in mind: start with daytime looks then move on to club wear and finally to lingerie. Sounds hot to us. Of course the hair would be fabulous. Who would provide the cloths? Any thoughts? How about a location? We are thinking of a place where alcohol can be served and is big enough for say at least 500 people. If you are a model and would be interested please reply.
Topless Haircuts
We are thinking about offering topless haircuts to drum up some business. What do you think? We may charge $120.00. Would that be a fair price? Maybe topless would be taking it a bit too far.
